Moffett – Truck Mounted Forklift Training and Certificate
Drivers with a lorry licence can boost their skills and get a well paid job prospects with a Truck Mounted Forklift Certificate, often known as Moffett Mounty.
The Transportable Lift Truck is attached ‘Piggy Back’ style to the rear of the truck, which can be hitched or un-hitched (mount/dismount) from the host vehicle for use loading and unloading cargo.
If you already hold a forklift certificate, a conversion course is 3 days and if you already have moffett experience as well this could be reduced to 1 day.
Someone new to forklifts would need a full course and if you decide to obtain a second qualification like a counterbalance or reach forklift certificate just adding an extra couple of days of training.
The Vehicle Mounted Lift Truck is also referred to as the manufacturers’ name of Moffett or Moffett Mounty. Truck-mounted forklifts / Moffets are usually mounted on the rear the vehicle or its platform, they can then be disconnected and used to offload their vehicle, often being able to operate on rough ground, they can also be used in places where accessibility is a challenge, like construction sites.
The range of truck-mounted forklifts offers lifting capacities up to 3.5 tonnes.
